School Fair 2026 is an activity of The People's Administration of the City of Mati, hosted by the Schools Division Office of the City of Mati. Over two days, Grade 12 students from Mati City and Davao Oriental will visit FGR Park & Baywalk to explore their options for tertiary education.
It's also part of a province-wide Career Pathways Mapping study led by the Division's Planning and Research Section — gathering real data on where learners want to go next, so future career guidance can better match real opportunities.
Colleges, universities, and technical-vocational institutions will set up exhibit booths and each deliver a five-minute program presentation, giving students a fast, direct look at the courses, scholarships, and pathways available to them — while institutions get to scout for their next enrolees.
The program is tentative and subject to updates as the activity date approaches; participating schools will receive the finalized guidelines through their respective Division offices.

School Fair 2026 doubles as a Career Pathways Mapping study — turning a two-day event into real data that shapes how future learners are guided.
Give learners direct access to information on higher education and TVET options
Capture learners' career preferences and intended pathways
Facilitate direct interaction between learners and partner HEIs/TVIs
Generate baseline data for a tracer study on SHS transition outcomes
Six to twelve months after the fair, a tracer study will check where participating learners actually enrolled — comparing declared preferences against real outcomes to strengthen career guidance for the next cohort.

What is the Davao Oriental School Fair?
It is a convergence of selected Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) and Technical-Vocational Institutions (TVIs) from Davao City, Tagum City, and the City of Mati as the EXHIBITORS, and the graduating senior high school students of Davao Oriental as the PARTICIPANTS.
What are the objectives of the School Fair?
- To widen the horizon of graduating high school students and help them make informed decisions regarding their next level of education.
- To help tertiary education institutions reach out to prospective enrollees across the province.
- To help reduce the travel expenses incurred by students and parents when traveling to Davao and other cities to inquire about enrollment and scholarship opportunities.
Why is it called the 8th Davao Oriental School Fair?
From 2007–2016 and in 2025, there have been seven (7) school fairs conducted, with each fair having an average of 50 exhibitors and 5,000 participants.
Where will the 8th Davao Oriental School Fair be held?
FGR Park and Baywalk, Quezon Street, Barangay Central, City of Mati.
When will it be held?
- September 3 (Thursday), 8AM–5PM — for participants coming from the 2nd District.
- September 4 (Friday), 8AM–5PM — for participants coming from the 1st District and selected schools from Mati.
What should participants do at the venue?
- Listen well to the presentations of the Exhibitors to know the important points of their course offerings and the strengths of their institutions.
- Roam around and see the different tables and booths of each Exhibitor, and ask them everything about their course offerings and special offers.
- Choose priority colleges, universities, and/or technical-vocational institutions and discuss them with your parents.
- Ask for pamphlets and other informative materials about the Exhibitors' offerings and show them to your parents for their reference.
Will there be free food for participants?
No, participants are expected to provide their own food. Drinking water is free for all.
Are there available restaurants at the venue?
There are food stalls available at designated spots within the venue. Online ordering through Food Panda, Ipamalihog Kay Lolo, and similar services is also available.
Are there freebies during the event?
There are lots of surprises for those who attend, including raffles for free t-shirts and other goodies.
